Story:

Power kick starts at Kolkata high court where Ganguly Bhai [Sampath Raj] plans to escape from police Custody. ACP Baldev [Ravi Teja] makes a powerful entry. After a while, Home Minister BK Roy resigns as he failed to catch Ganguly bhai. Meanwhile, Animuthyam [Brahmanandam] make trials to arrest Feroz bhai but gets captured by the goons. Ravi Teja enters as Thirupathi with bearded look in Hyderabad and fights the villains off and gets back to Kolkata as ACP Baldev. Is Baldev and Thirupathi one and the same? How he unturns his true colours and resolves all the corruption web around him marks the crux of Power.

Performance:

Ravi Teja is at his usual best with high energy. He has delivered a laudable performance in both the roles. His looks, especially bearded and role as Police officer take us to his earlier films Vikramarkudu and Sindhooram for a while.

Hansika and Regina Cassandra are glamorous and worth watching on screen. Their chemistry with Ravi Teja worked big time.

Brahmanandam, Saptagiri have done good job among others.

Technical Analysis:

Bobby aka K Ravindra made a commendable debut as director. Interesting screenplay and good recital with right mix of entertainment, action and glamour. But failed to maintain the pace.

SS Thaman's background is passable, but songs played spoil sport. Choreography is normal, though stars looked hot. Notanki song is effective among others.

Cinematography is good. Chase scenes, Old City fight sequence and Brahmanandam escape scene are well captured.

Editing could have been crisper. More violence and romantic portions that could be trimmed a little bit.

Analysis:

Power starts with a powerful entry by Ravi Teja. First half is entertaining with one liners, comedy sequences by Brahmanandam and Saptagiri. Interval bang is big asset. Comparatively, second half is okay - flash back, heavy sentiment, weak climax. But the later half is balanced with hot songs.

Final Verdict: Entertainment unlimited with few adopts and renounces...

Story

Karthik(NTR) flies back to India to his home from US and his mother (Jayasudha) asks him to marry her brothers daughter Indu(Samantha). Jayasudha and his brother’s family get separated long back due to family arguments. To fulfill his mother’s wish, Karthik heads to Hyderabad and joins his cousin’s college. He assumes Bhagyam (Praneetha) as his uncle’s daughter and impresses her. When he realizes his mistake and finds Indu (Samantha) is the right girl and not Bhagyam, the former falls for Vamsi (Nandu). Both Karthik and Indu ends up in connection with two different families. How does Karthik clear the confusion and marry Indu is the rest.

Performances

NTR has done a brilliant job and like always he excelled in dance, romance, action and emotional scenes but however, NTR has opted for a routine story yet again.

Samantha is not just a pretty face but also a charmer. Despite the limited scope for performance, she tries her best to deliver in every frame she had.

Praneetha stands out in the first half and she is quite glamorous in Rakasi Rakasi song. She pulls through the role with ease.

Brahmanadnam is fabulous and large part of the success  can be attributed to him, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Nagineedu are neat, Nasser, Ajay are okay, Jayasudha is exemplary, Raghu Babu, Ali are hilarious. Rest of the casts is adequate.

Technical Analysis

Shyam K Naidu’s cinematography is first-class while Thaman’s music is ear-pleasing and the background score is entertaining. Santosh Srinivas’s direction is just okay while the screenplay is routine and predictable. Dialogues are neat but lacks the needed punch. Editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is just okay. Production values are standard.

Analysis

Rabhasa like any other Telugu commercial movie has action, romance, love and emotional scenes but it falters for its routine story and clichés.

The entire story gets revealed in the first thirty minutes itself. Except for the college scenes on NTR-Samantha-Praneetha, songs and a couple of comedy scenes, the first half look uninteresting. Even the interval bang is normal and the action scenes in the movie are over-the-top without the impressive twists. NTR is the only saving grace of the first hour.

However, it is the second half that keeps the audiences glued to the screens. Besides NTR, actor Brahmanandam turns out to be the biggest asset and the comedy in this hour turns a safe bet at the box office. Rabhasa is a regular formulaic movie that offers nothing unique but keeps audiences glued to the screens with its entertaining second half. NTR and Brahmanandam shouldered the movie and keep the audiences entertaining. However at the box-office, Rabhasa has high chances to score a hit due to its entertainment

Story

Raju Bhai (Suriya) is a mafia don in Mumbai. In search of Raju Bhai, Krishna (Suriya) comes to Mumbai from Vizag. Krishna gets to know about Raju Bhai and Chandu (Vidyut Jamwal) friendship and their mafia business. Imran Bhai (Manoj Bhajpai) a powerful mafia don kills Chandu. And meanwhile, when Raju Bhai gets to know that few of his gang members have backstabbed them and killed Chandu, he also gets fired by the same gang. What happens to him? Who is Krishna and why does he come to meet Raju Bhai, and the rest of the revenge saga forms climax.

Performances

Suriya looked quite stylish and handsome and Sikandar is his show all the way. He did his best to do justice to dual roles in the movie.

Samantha is very glamorous and she surprises us with a bikini in a song. All the romantic portions between Suriya and Samantha are a decent watch. They have danced well and all the songs are colourful.

Vidyut Jammwal performs well while Manoj Bajpai has a limited role. Soori was not offered much length, but he has done his parts well. Others namely Brahmanandam, Rajpal Yadav, Manoj Bajpai, Dalip Tahil are okay.

Technical Analysis:

Santosh Sivan’s camera work is on top notch and every frame looked colorful. The songs are visual delight. Yuvan's musical scores are entertaining while the background score is loud at times. Lingusamy's story is routine and screenplay is predictable. Dialogues are routine while the editing is pathetic. Action choreography is good. Production values are rich.

Analysis

Being Suriya, Lingusaamy film, Sikandar has been released with high expectations even in Telugu. However, the film has a routine story and predictable screenplay. Except for couple of twists [pre-interval bang], Sikandar doesn't provide unique content and moves on expected lines.

The pace of the movie drops and the run-length is tad too long. Editing could have been much better. Sikandar starts with a good pace, but slows down by the end of first half after plotting the characters. Pre-Interval bang twist works well raising hopes on second half but too many action sequences, guessable twists and dragged scenes fails to keep the audiences hooked.

Only the lead pair's performances are the saving grace. Suriya’s Sikandar may not be a pick from the lot for family audiences, as there are plenty of action sequences.

Story

Raghav who is a drunkard knows the fact that his career is coming to an end and so, gives training for Gayatri and in no time, she turns a popular singer bagging awards. They fall for each other but Gayatri’s huge craze and Raghav’s career fall become a problem for the couple. How does their love story end up forms the rest.

Performances

Sachiin Joshi has stepped into the shoes of Aditya Roy Kapoor for this Telugu remake. However, he isn’t apt for the role. The intense and emotional scenes were expression-less and out of place.

Nazia Hussain was just okay in the role of Gayatri. As a debutant her performance is okay but people who have watched the Hindi version and loved Arohi role will be disappointed.

Shashank is neat in the role of hero’s friend, Posani was brief, Rao Ramesh is good and others filled the screens.

Technical Analysis

The original version’s soulful and soothing music have been retained and the background score is ear-pleasing. Cinematography is grand and every song has been shot neatly. Dialogues are poorly written, Editing is okay. Production values are grand.

Analysis

Nee Jathaga Nenundali is official remake of Aashiqui 2, which itself is the free-make of A Star Is Born (1976) film. Director Jaya Ravidra didn’t experiment and made it similar to the original version even the camera angles weren’t changed. Being an intense romantic story, the film has to have good performances and chemistry between the leads, impressive dialogues and soulful music. Sadly, Nee Jathaga Nenundali had none except for the pleasing music which has been ruined with silly lyrics. The pace drops drastically in the second hour neither the climax which is supposed to be heart-wrenching looks pointless. Except very few scenes, Nee Jathaga Nenundali fails to charm the viewers.

Story

Into the flashback, Karthi is in love with Parineethi aka Paru (Kristina Akheeva). While the former wants to get married to her, the latter isn’t yet ready for relationship and this leads to their breakup. On the other hand, Arav Reddy (Rahul Ravindran) loves Swathi deeply but the latter caring for her parents gets married to Karthi of their choice. Back from the flashback, Paru realizes her love for Karthi and Aarav still waits for Swathi. The rest of the part is to be watched on screens.

Performances

Aadi scores well with his subtle and natural performance. He is evolving as an actor with each film and Gaalipatam is by far his best role.

Erica looks good and has bagged a decent role, Kristina is impressive in Paru’s role. Rahul Ravindran plays crucial role and he is good.

Pragathi is perfect, Sapthagiri, Posani are entertaining and others including Bharath Reddy, Bhargavi are adequate.

Technical Analysis

Bheems music is entertaining while the cinematography by Bujji is decent. Background score elevates crucial scenes. Dialogues are major asset of the film and Sampath Nandi sure scores with his writing. As a debutant, Naveen Gandhi impresses with his direction. Screenplay is okay and the editing is neat. Production values are good.

Analysis

As the makers said earlier, Gaalipatam has a bold and novel yet realistic concept that a section of audiences may not agree with. However, director Naveen Gandhi narrates it in entertaining way and the dialogues penned by Sampath Nandi works.

While the first half is passable with focus on entertainment, the second half deals with emotional content and complicated relationships. The interval block raises curiosity on the latter half and the climax is very distinct. The contemporary storyline will be liked by the present generation but an intense and taut screenplay could have made Galipatam much more agreeable. Unnecessary and forced comedy scenes of the Jabardasth batch could have been avoided in the second half.

Despite its own flaws, Gaalipatam offers novelty and is quite different from the regular formulaic movies which will appeal to the current generation.

Story

Performances

Sharwanand pulls of this fun role with much ease. His comic-timing is brilliant and he looks cool in the movie. Raja’s characterization is tailor-made for the actor.

Seerat Kapoor looks glamorous in the first half and performance-wise she has done well. Her chemistry with Sharwanand is a good watch.

Adavi Sesh is yet another asset for the movie. His characterization is very impressive and he does it to perfection. Dilip Kumar of Mirchi fame impresses with his performance. Others are adequate.

Gibran’s musical scores are entertaining and ear-pleasing while the visuals are impressive. Madhie’s cinematography is on top-notch. Sujeeth’s direction is impressive. Dialogues hhave the needed punch and screenplay is taut. Editing is okay. UV Creations production values are rich.

Analysis

Sharwanand who has been waiting to score a hit has made perfect comeback with Run Raja Run. Audience will enjoy watching his entertaining characterization in the movie. Debutant director Sujeeth has taken utmost care making the film entertaining with mix of romance, comedy and the suspense.

Interesting story and the twists and turns with crisp yet punchy dialogues work for the movie. First half of Run Raja Run is packed with fun and moves at good pace. However, the post-interval scenes are a bit slow and too many songs hinder the flow. Climax is abrupt and predictable.

Nevertheless, Run Raja Run is refreshing entertainer packed with romance, comedy maintaining the suspense elements. Sharwanand, Adavi Sesh performances, taut screenplay, entertaining dialogues and rich production values makes Run Raja Run worthy watch.
